Texas and Missouri Powerball Winners Split Record $1.79 Billion Jackpot
Two lucky Powerball players in Texas and Missouri have won the massive $1.79 billion jackpot during the drawing held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, breaking a three-month streak without a top prize winner.
These winning tickets—matching the numbers 11, 23, 44, 61, 62, and Powerball 17—split one of the largest jackpots in Powerball history and will give each winner the choice between receiving their share through 30 annual annuity payments or a lump sum payout estimated at $826.4 million before taxes.
The Texas jackpot was sold at a Big’s convenience store in Fredericksburg, located in the Hill Country, while the Missouri ticket’s location has not yet been revealed. The winners’ identities remain undisclosed, and lottery officials note that both states are celebrating the record-setting moment, which serves as the second-highest prize ever awarded by Powerball after the $2.04 billion won in California in 2022.
In addition to the jackpot winners, other Powerball players also struck it rich: two tickets in Texas and Kansas earned $2 million prizes, and 18 winners across 13 states matched five numbers to claim $1 million each.
This historic drawing followed 41 consecutive draws with no jackpot winner, leading to building anticipation across the U.S. Lottery officials emphasize that while the odds of winning the jackpot are astronomical—1 in 292.2 million—the game continues to produce life-changing prizes and record-breaking excitement for millions of players.
With the jackpot now resetting to $20 million for Monday’s draw, hopefuls will continue chasing their dreams in the next round of America’s favorite lottery.
